Description
AY McDonald started an Innovation Center that works directly with customers to see what products can be improved and what new products can be developed to fit needs in the field. This Innovation Center opened up in 2015 and within the first year recognized Water Utilities had a clear need for training. Many utilities have a large portion of their work force at or near retirement age. They also heard that it was difficult sending staff to training events. Lastly they found that many utilities were not aware of products (some new and some existing) that could make things easier and in some cases less expensive. The training truck was born to offer training at these Utilities. To develop the training we worked with many Utilities and our customer service group, engineers, and Marketing group to come up with 100 bullet points of consistent questions, concerns and installation mistakes. The training was created to answers each of these bullet points and adds all the newest water works products. Donnie Lathem, our Eastern U.S. trainer retired from a large water utility after 27 years (Columbus OH) and personally learned new things while working with Engineers and Product managers developing the training. Whether you are new to the industry or a veteran – you will learn more about the various products as well as installation requirements.
