Description
The three aspects of successful and sustainable utility operations are technical, managerial and financial capabilities. This course will focus primarily on the technical and managerial aspects of utility operation. The purpose of this course is to provide attending utility personnel with the basic techniques and obligations to ensure proper and sustainable operations. This course will not only cover standard and accepted industry practices, but also assistance that can be provided by DEP's Capability Enhancement Program and potential coordination and cooperation opportunities that can further sustainability. Once completed, the attendees will be able to: * Describe the various resources that can be utilized to provide assistance * Implement practices within their utility that will ensure their sustainability * Investigate potential coordination and cooperation opportunities within their geographic region to enhance their sustainability Although this course is focusing primarily on drinking water capability enhancement program, the techniques and activities covered apply to both drinking water and wastewater utilities.
