Description
This course is designed for the rescuer expected to respond and operate at a trench collapse emergency. In this course, the student will be challenged with technical problems, such as: rescue obstructions, victims trapped with heavy large objects, construction and use of an on-site built trench box, double side-wall collapse situations, and incident termination. This course presents several action alternatives and tactical probabilities associated with trench rescue efforts. This course reviews action plan development techniques that can be implemented prior to the arrival of a trained technical rescue team. This course addresses excavation requirements as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1926.651, 1926.652, and in part the skill competencies in NFPA 1006.
