Description
Loss of positive pressure (LOPP) poses a risk to public health. The distribution system is the final barrier of protection. Maintaining distribution system components intact and in good condition, and maintaining positive pressure, is key to maintaining that barrier. The LOPP procedures and DEP policy focus on identification and prevention of contaminated water that can occur during a distribution system breach, in order to take steps to prevent consumption of contaminated water.
