The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of topics of relevance to both Water and Wastewater. Topics include General Math, General Chemistry, General Safety, Chemical Feed System, and Chemical Addition.

Course Content
• General Math: an overview of the basic mathematical knowledge required to operate both water and wastewater treatment plant. • General Chemistry: an overview of the fundamentals of chemistry, including the concept of matter and its structure, the laws of chemistry, chemical reactions, stoichiometry and solutions, as it relates to water and wastewater applications. • General Safety: an overview of safety awareness as it relates to chemical and other hazards associated with operations. Prevention and response to safety and health issues will be discussed, as it relates to water and wastewater. • Chemical Feed Systems: an overview of chemicals used in wastewater treatment, safe handling, dosing calculations and proper operation and maintenance, as it relates to water and wastewater. • Chemical Addition: an overview of chemicals used in water treatment, safety and handling, chemical dosage calculations and chemical feeds systems, as it relates to water and wastewater.
Target Audience
New operators not yet certified and certified operators wanting to earn continuing education credit for both Water and Wastewater.
