Description
Wastewater and Water Treatment managers and operators deal with numerous electrically driven processes, at treatment plants and outlying sewage pump stations and water booster pump stations. These processes utilize equipment that is controlled and powered from electrical control panels and various electrical components such as, Variable frequency drives, electric motors, programmable logic controllers and SCADA systems, to name a few. Maintaining these systems requires a thorough understanding of the equipment.
Many times electrical issues will arise at these facilities. This course is developed with the understanding that most operations personnel are not electrical engineers but they still have to maintain, troubleshoot and identify problems associated with the electrical equipment.
This course will give an in depth overview of why electrical problems occur, common terminology, discussions of motors, control panels, components, design considerations, startup, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and prevention.
