Description
The purpose of this course it to provide a basic overview of how to read symbols from and interpret electrical single-line diagrams. This will be useful for field maintenance staff who already have some electrical experience with water and wastewater treatment plants.

2. Basic Terms/Definitions
• Include site-specific photos to explain basic terms/definitions from water and wastewater sites
3. Safety Review
• Basic Lockout Tagout Refresher
4. Logistics of Single-Line Diagrams
• Where are they/should they be located?
• Who should update them?
• How often?
5. Basic of Single Line Diagrams
6. Practical Exercise(s)
• Include site-specific basic case studies that includes some minor problems for water and wastewater.
7. Written Test
• All students must demonstrate proficiency reading single line diagrams and basic terminology. Passing score of at least 80%

This would be suitable for field maintenance employees who perform electrical system work or maintenance work of systems that is powered by electricity.
