Description
The purpose of this course is to prepare participants for the PA DEP Wastewater Treatment Exam. Successful completion of this course will help the participant become a certified wastewater treatment operator and also serves as a refresher course for practitioners seeking continuing education credits.

Wastewater Lab Basics and Troubleshooting
a. List the various types of glassware used in a laboratory and explain the use of each.
b. List the various types of preparatory equipment and explain the use of each.
c. List the various types of analytical equipment and explain the use of each.
Treatment Plant Maintenance and Trouble Shooting
a. Describe the purpose of maintenance and its importance to the overall operation of a wastewater facility.
b. List three goals of a maintenance program and briefly describe each one
c. Define Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and explain their primary purpose.
Target Audience
This course is designed for people who desire a career as a wastewater treatment operator or plant superintendent as well as for water authority personal an board members. This course can also serve as a refresher course for practitioners seeking continuing education credits.
