Description
This course was originally created through DEP (Tom Brown). Its purpose is to help Operators run and troubleshoot a pond or lagoon in their system. It will also cover common myths about lagoons. There is a group exercise to aid operators in utilizing the information covered, to ensure a basic understanding of the material given.

Have the ability to explain the concepts of how Ponds and Lagoons work Ability to identify the different types and zones within lagoons. Understand and summarize the Major factors that impact Lagoon operations (diurnal operations) The ability to compare Lagoon Processes to other treatment technologies Understand and apply the analysis/methods necessary for Lagoon process control. Understand the limitations of Lagoons for nitrogen removal. Dispel Lagoon myths and rumors Ability to troubleshoot a lagoon in a group exercise.

An operator in training, licensed operators, and circuit riders in a pond or lagoon system.
