Description
The trihalomethane (THM) family of disinfection by products (DBP) are regulated across the world as drinking water contaminants. Many utilities across North America contend with the difficulties in managing THMs below state and federal limits. While many systems employ techniques such as enhanced coagulation, chlorine dosing control and activated carbon in the treatment plants - few techniques are available to be employed in distribution networks. This course will detail the combination of mixing and aeration as an effective strategy to manage network THM levels.
