Description
Session 1 of 2.
Session 1 is given in 3 separate virtual sessions. Session 2 is a separate course for additional Contact Hours and offered at a pumping facility. Session 1 must be completed prior to taking session 2.
Pumping systems account for a significant portion of a facility’s energy use in many industries. In the majority of
pumping systems, the energy added to the working fluid by the pump is much greater than required by the process.
The excess energy added to the system generates heat, noise, and vibration that increase the system’s
maintenance costs in addition to the excess energy cost. The goal of the Course is highlight how total cost of
ownership can be reduced through assessment and optimization. The course provides attendees practical
knowledge on pumping system fundamentals and energy consumption, assessment methodology and prescreening, and how to approach system optimization to reduce total cost of ownership.
