Description
American Water employees may be exposed to extreme cold environments depending on your work location/region. In regions that are not used to winter weather, near freezing temperatures are also considered "extreme cold" and may be at risk for Cold Stress. These extreme cold or frigid environments force the body to work harder to maintain its normal temperature. A compromise in the body’s ability to maintain core temperature can be dangerous. This course is a requirement for all American Water Water and Wastewater Operators as part of our Health & Safety Education Program.
