Description
Various topics regarding coagulation and flocculation are discussed from its mechanism, available chemicals, preparation before application, injection methods, and typical dosages for a wide range of processes. Effect of dilution water on polymer solution quality is presented, followed by implementation of two-stage mixing and sufficient residence time into polymer system design. Case studies at municipal treatment plants showed that well-designed polymer systems can significantly improve the performance of dewatering process.
