In Sectional Views and Simplified Drafting you will learn about the various types of sectional views which are important in your work because they are often used on prints. You will also learn about simplified drafting which more and more companies are using. Building Drawings teaches the basics of reading building drawings. In a maintenance job you will often need to refer to the blueprints for your plant. The blueprints will tell you how a building is constructed, its overall size, and the size of each of its parts. They show the placement of structural members, such as columns and beams, and the mechanical and electrical systems. To make sense of the blueprints for your plant, you must first learn the kinds of markings, symbols, and labels used on building drawings.
