Description
Dinensioning - As a maintenance worker, you must be able to read and understand dimensions on drawings. To do so will help you repair broken parts or make new parts to the correct size. Surface finishes and their symbols also are important when you are making a new part. It is helpful to know the required finish. Then you can hold or secure the part on which you are working without harming the finish.
Tolerancing and Symbols - It is important to understand both the English (or customary) and the SI (or metric) units used in dimensioning. You should also become familiar with the various types of fits and tolerances. Also it is important that you know the common symbols and notations used on drawings.
