Fluoridation Learning Online is designed to build the capability of state fluoridation programs, and to help increase knowledge and refine skills to implement and maintain community water fluoridation. FLO addresses training needs across multiple audiences, including state oral health staff and practitioners, state drinking water regulatory engineers, water system operators, and others that want to understand the role of water fluoridation in improving the public’s oral health. Many states, such as Pennsylvania, have adopted more stringent standards than those provided in the Safe Drinking Water Act. The primary content of the course is presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with an added module presented by the PA Coalition for Oral Health (PCOH) to provide Pennsylvania specific information and guidance where PA differs from CDC FLO. Training is needed across multiple audiences, including state oral health staff and practitioners, state drinking water regulatory engineers, water system operators, to understand the role of water fluoridation in improving the public’s oral health and how to implement and maintain community water fluoridation.
