Description
Industrial Alternating Current Motors: This study unit covers the construction and operation of single and three phase or polyphase alternating current motors. You'll learn about AC motor basics through examples of how coils create magnetic fields when they are supplied with AC electricity. You'll also see how electromagnetic induction allows the rotor of a motor to have a current clow and its own magnetic field. Also you'll see how single phase and split phase motors operate. Then there will be a descriptiion of the capacitor motor and a brief presentation of the repulsion induction motor. Industrial Direct Current Motors: This course will teach you the basics of magnetic and electricomagnetic principles and how these princiiples are used to create motion in a DC motor. It will also look at the construction of a typical DC motor and how a motor can be reversed, plus three different methods of creating a DC motor speed control system. You will also review various types of DC motors, the basic types of failure that can occur in each motor, and the testing procedures to use to find these faults. Controlling Industrial Motors: This text will cover the operation, electrical connections, and troubleshooting of generic controllers in detail, allowing you to easily translate your knowledge to most motor controllers used today.
