Description
The Public Notification (PN) Rule ensures that consumers will know if there is a problem with their drinking water. The rule requires public water systems to notify consumers in writing when various violations or situations occur. Public water systems are also required to submit a certification form to the Department within 10 days of the public notice posting deadline. This certification form is to include an attachment of the written public notice. This course introduces a new job aid “PN Staff Review Checklist” to assist DEP staff in reviewing submitted PN certification forms and public notices for completeness.
