Description
The purpose of this course is to familiarize operators in the operation and troubleshooting of the activated sludge process as well as plant design for nutrient removal systems. Much time will be spent on biological nutrient removal and the process requirements to complete the conversions.

This course will cover nitrification/denitrification, phosphorus removal, plant design and control for biological nutrient removal, and the parameters used to monitor and troubleshoot the BNR process.
Target Audience
This course is intended for operators who are new to activated sludge or nutrient removal and licensed operators that would like a refresher in the activated sludge process.
