Description
Hydraulic Components: Actuators, Pumps, and Motors: This study unit will discuss two general types of hydraulic components: power input and power output devices. Power input devices provide the pressurized fluid that any system requires to operate. Output devices allow a system to convert hydraulic power into a mechanical power output, doing work outside of the hydraulic system.. We'll also discuss different actuator designs, their detail parts such as seals, pistons, and drains, and their operation. We'll also look at the design and operation of rotary actuators and pumps. Also included in the unit is a description of hydraulic motors.
Conductors, Conditioners, and Fluids: This unit will examine accumulators that control the effects of shocks or pulse pressure signals occurring purposefully or accidentally in hydraulic systems. It will also deal with components that contain and conduct hydraulic fluid, like reservoirs and tubing, as well as devices that condition fluid. Conditioning involves making sure that certain fluid properties are maintained by controlling temperature. Heat exchangers will also be discussed as well as the fluids themselves, their properties, types and appications.
