Description
Ingestion of radionuclides though drinking water can cause health effects such as cancer, kidney damage, and genetic mutations. The original Radionuclides Rule went into effect during 1977 to regulate community water systems. The Revised Radionuclides Rule was published in 2000 to improve public health protection by requiring regulated system monitoring at all entry points to a drinking water distribution system.
Due to the technical nature of the Revised Radionuclides regulation, this course is Part 1 (of 2 Parts). This Part 1 course – which can be a “stand alone course” - reviews background information, monitoring, data management (i.e. PADWIS) screens, and reporting.
